Who Helps You Grow?
The best CEOs and leaders use a coach to help them improve results—just like great athletes and artists. It’s hard to improve your business, make better decisions and become a better leader by yourself.
Let’s talk about how coaching can help you.
You Don’t Have To Lead Alone Anymore.
I’m Doug Haynes—retired CEO turned Executive Coach and Vistage Peer Group Chair. As a business leader for 40+ years, I know what it’s like to stand in your shoes. I’ve spent thousands of hours coaching CEOs, business owners and leaders like you.
You get so busy with the day-to-day you don’t take enough time to step back, get a broader perspective and focus on leading instead of doing. Because you’re pressed for time, and just about everyone around you needs something from you.
Who do you talk to for unbiased advice?
I coach CEOs and leaders to make better decisions and get new insights—so you’re not by yourself. I’m a change agent and mentor. Like any good coach, I don’t tell you how to do your job. Instead, I listen. Ask hard questions. Challenge your thinking and decision-making. Hold you accountable. And help you grow faster than you would on your own.
If you’re asked to join one of my Vistage Peer Groups, I’ll be your coach and you’ll have your peer group for support.
Or you can work with me outside of Vistage—wherever you are.
Either way, my approach is the same.
I am 100% committed to my clients’ success.
About My Coaching
All of my coaching sessions are private and confidential. I spend 60-90 minutes in a 1-2-1 session each month with each client, in your office or virtually on video.
My goal is to surface your biggest challenges and opportunities, create a framework for accountability and dig deep for what’s really going on. Coaching starts with:
A 20-minute call for introductions.
An in-person or video coaching session to determine fit and coachability. I ask probing questions to understand who you are, where you want to go and what might be holding you back.
A decision by both of us about whether this is right for you. My coaching begins with painting a clear picture of success, identifies obstacles in the way, and I ask you to set regular goals for improvement.
If you are serious about your business and career and want to schedule an introductory session with me, click the button below. It starts with a conversation.
Take The Next Step
-
1. Schedule A Call
We’ll get to know each other in 20 minutes on Zoom or in person. If there’s mutual interest, we’ll schedule another session. If not, we’ll have another contact. No sales. No pressure. No obligation.
-
2. Get A Coaching Session
In a 90-minute free coaching session, we’ll dive deep on your challenges and opportunities. If it feels like a fit, I may invite you to become a Vistage member or client. But it’s not right for everyone. I’m very selective.
-
3. Start Your Change
You’ll grow your business and leadership faster and easier with coaching and support from me your Vistage Peer Group (if applicable). With more support and accountability than you have on your own.
Why Leadership Coaching Matters
A good coaching relationship can be a valuable learning tool for your leadership development. But the key to making it work is to realize that coaching is a solution to an identified problem. You have to realize you are ready to get coaching support…and want it.
Here are some of the best reasons to use a coach:
1. You need an objective, unbiased assessment of your observations and actions.
Rarely do CEOs or executive leaders have a “truth-teller” in the organization. Who helps you see around your “blind spots” and tells you the hard trust you may not want to hear?
2. You need accurate and timely feedback on your leadership effectiveness.
Coaches can interview people around you at work and get good feedback on what you are doing that works and what you need to change.
3. You need someone to guide you through reflection and self-analysis.
I have clients tell me the best part of having a coach and peer group is the monthly, uninterrupted period of time to think without distractions. Someone who asks you good questions can really get you thinking.
4. You need an outsider’s point of view on an issue.
You need to hear from someone who has been a CEO, works with other leaders and sees what works and what does not. This is especially helpful if you grew up in your organization and have limited experience with other companies, cultures, and ways of doing things. A coach can increase your knowledge of best practices and ways to get things done.
5. You have accountability without going alone anymore.
Leadership is lonely at the top. Who can you talk to that you trust? The group and I will hold you accountable to follow through with what you say you want to do. And you have a trusted guide and peer group where you can talk about anything confidentially.
